Ataraxia é un ensemble italiano nato agli inizi degli anni '90 che lavora in bilico tra avanguardia e tradizione creando ambientazioni sonore ed esibendosi in concerti abbinati ad altre forme di espressione quali la rappresentazione scenica in palazzi, castelli, piazze, parchi, clubs, sale da concerto e teatri. Molti concerti in Italia, ma anche Europa, America latina ed in oriente. Musicalmente sono degli "artigiani" del suono poiché creano insoliti connubi tra sacro e profano, antico e contemporaneo, una sorta di "musici viaggiatori", essendo ispirati dai viaggi (geografici ed interiori) in luoghi che conservano il carico dei secoli e il mistero della storia. Percorrendo le antiche vie ed ascoltando il richiamo della pietra e diventando il "crocevia" tra la cultura Mediterranea, la tradizione provenzale, il mondo Celtico, e rielaborando leggende Europee e miti Greci e Latini in numerose lingue antiche e moderne. Contemplazione, esperienze oniriche, momenti di profonda riflessione, atmosfere crepuscolari ed elegiache ed i nostri ricordi fluttuano nel misterioso giardino di Psiche e Desiderio dove le tessiture di note incontrano l'avvolgente eco di strumenti antichi e contemporanei. Quattro musici dipingono con note e movenze inediti paesaggi che aprono varchi per nuove dimensioni e consentono profondi scambi emotivi. Il rapporto col nostro secolo si basa sul viaggio. Camminiamo lungo un percorso che affonda le sue origini in tempi remoti. Gli 'Antichi Spiriti' parlano ancora.
Nel corso della loro lunga carriera L'ensemble ha realizzato molti album, distribuiti in numerosi paesi del mondo, e due volumi:
• ARCANA ECO (con cd allegato) che traccia la loro storia, le tematiche da loro esplorate e le influenze poetiche e paesaggistiche che hanno ispirato la loro musica (edizione in italiano ed in inglese)
• OIL ON CANVAS (con cd allegato), raccolta di versi della cantante Francesca Nicoli, tradotti in 4 lingue, accompagnato dagli scatti di tre fotografi europei.

From Celtic to North-European culture, from medieval ballads to shamanic chants: the music of Emian combines North European and Mediterranean folk languages, capturing the listeners' attention through enchanting songs, leading their mind to spectacular sceneries such as snowy peaks and enchanted woods, along the Scandinavian fjords. They are offered the unique and unexpected opportunity to discover their deepest self together with lost archaic feelings that can bring back the ancestral harmony with the universe.
EMIAN PaganFolk formed in 21th December 2011 (Yule, the winter solstice). Their music and interpretation are the result of an ancestral vision of life, far from contemporary lifestyles and close to the ancient and natural values.
The band has gained in the last few years a myriad of live concerts and two important Italian awards: in 2013 "best accredited artists" in Ferrara Buskers Festival; in 2015 "best performance" in the “European Celtic Contest” by Montelago Celtic Festival.
In April 2014 they released their first full-length entitled "AcquaTerra" and filmed two official videoclips: "Mother's Breath" and "The Last King's March" available on YouTube. In Summer 2015 they played in the important Italian festival Festa dell'Unicorno, as well as Montelago Celtic Festival, and also played in the Belgian festival Celtic Night Geluwe during their first European tour.
In the same season, the two founding members, Aianna and Emain, wrote a soundtrack for the movie "Francesco esempio di vita". On 18 June 2016, Emian played for the first edition of the Italian festival Yggdrasil and opened the concert of Omnia, icon band of the international pagan folk scene, for the first time in Italy after twenty years career. On 15th July they released their second full-length entitled "Khymeia", produced and recorded by the independent label I Make Records. A long international tour taked place in some of the most important festivals in Italy (Montelago Celtic Festival, Druidia, Ferrara Buskers Festival) and two important foreign festivals: Celtic Night Geluwe and Festival Mediaval in Selb, Germany. In September 2016, the band debuted in theatre with an original adaptation of Sophocle's Antigone. The four musicians are the authors and performers of the soundtrack.
