Z-Fest è un festival prog nato nel 2015 dalla mente di Fabio Zuffanti, musicista, produttore, artista a 360°. Dopo il grande successo delle tre precedenti edizioni il festival ritorna negli accoglienti spazi del Legend Club di Milano.
Quest'anno Z-Fest diventa internazionale con due tra i protagonisti più importanti della rinascita del prog inglese; HEATHER FINDLAY, ex Mostly Autumn, e il progetto THAT JOE PAYNE, dell'ex cantante degli storici The Enid. Fabio ha scelto di improntare l'evento all'insegna del prog rock di stampo più sinfonico con i giovani ISPROJECT, al loro esordio sul palco dopo lo splendido CD di debutto, e un super concerto che celebrerà i 20 anni di HÖSTSONATEN. Il tutto in una serata che si preannuncia carica di sorprese ed emozioni.
Il programma di Z-Fest 2018 sarà il seguente:
Inizio alle 20.30 con il pianoforte e la voce di Joe Payne e del suo progetto THAT JOE PAYNE. Joe è l'ex cantante della storica prog band inglese The Enid e può vantare il premio di “No. 1 Male Vocalist" nel sondaggio dei lettori della rivista “Prog” nel 2014-2015. E' stato inoltre nominato per 3 Progressive Music Awards con The Enid, tra cui: Band dell'anno (2013), album dell'anno (2013) ed evento dell'anno (2015). thatjoepayne.com
Si prosegue alle 21.15 con ISPROJECT (duo che sarà coadiuvato da altri tre musicisti), rivelazione del prog italiano dal respiro internazionale con l'album d'esordio “The Archinauts”, pubblicato nel settembre 2017 da AMS Records. ISProject propone un sound moderno e realmente progressive, con un lungo sguardo proiettato verso il futuro. facebook.com/isprojectmusic
Alle 22 salirà sul palco HEATHER FINDLAY, ex front-woman dei Mostly Autumn e cantautrice. Hether è un'artista dotata di un'acuta capacità di comunicare col cuore ed emozionante con il suo canto. Negli anni l'artista inglese ha collaborato con nomi del calibro di Ritchie Blackmore, Jethro Tull, Fish, John Wetton, Uriah Heep, Iona, Ayreon, Steve Hogarth (Marillion) e molti altri. heatherfindlay.co.uk
Infine, alle 22.45, l'ensemble HÖSTSONATEN con un lungo concerto antologico che festeggerà i 20 anni di attività discografica. La folta line-up schierata sul palco, praticamente un'orchestra rock-sinfonica, darà vita alla riproposizione di alcune tra le più emozionanti pagine del repertorio del progetto creato nel 1996 da Fabio Zuffanti. Z-Fest is a prog festival first held in 2015, organised by musician, producer and all-round artist Fabio Zuffanti. In the wake of the great success of the first three editions, the festival is back again at the Legend Club in Milan!
This year Z-Fest goes international, featuring two of the greatest figures in the renaissance of British prog rock; HEATHER FINDLAY, formerly of Mostly Autumn, and THAT JOE PAYNE, a project by the former singer of the historic band The Enid. This year Fabio has organised a symphonic edition of his progressive rock festival, featuring the young band ISPROJECT, performing live for the first time since recording their splendid debut album, and a super concert to celebrate the 20th anniversary of HÖSTSONATEN. All in a single evening packed with thrills and surprises.
The Z-Fest 2018 programme is as follows:
Opening at 8.30 pm with Joe Payne singing and playing the piano in his new identity as THAT JOE PAYNE. Joe is the former lead vocalist of historic British progressive rock band The Enid, nominated “No. 1 Male Vocalist" in a survey of “Prog” magazine readers in 2014-2015. He was also nominated for 3 Progressive Music Awards with The Enid, including band of the year (2013), album of the year (2013) and event of the year (2015). thatjoepayne.com
Continuing at 9:15 pm with ISPROJECT (a duo supported by three additional musicians), a new revelation of international scope on the Italian prog scene, with their debut album “The Archinauts”, released in September 2017 by AMS Records. At 10 pm singer-songwriter HEATHER FINDLAY, former Mostly Autumn frontwoman, takes the stage. Heather is an artist with a great ability to communicate from the heart and move her audience with her songs. Over the years, the British artist has worked with acts of the calibre of Ritchie Blackmore, Jethro Tull, Fish, John Wetton, Uriah Heep, Iona, Ayreon, Steve Hogarth (Marillion) and many more. heatherfindlay.co.uk
Finally, at 10:45 pm, HÖSTSONATEN will perform a long anthological set celebrating the group's 20-year recording history. With a big line-up on the stage, practically a symphonic rock orchestra, the group will look back over some of the most exciting pages in the history of this project created by Fabio Zuffanti in 1996, with the participation of surprise guests adding to the attractions of the evening's packed programme. hostsonaten.com
